Obituary For Micheal Lovelace Sr.

Mr. Micheal Lovelace Sr., 65, of West Point, GA (New Harmony Community) passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, GA.

Homegoing Celebration Services for Mr. Lovelace will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the New Harmony C.M.E. Church with the Rev. John L. Pollard, Pastor, Eulogist, Min. Pauline Pollard, Min. Alex Harrison, assisting.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. EST until the funeral hour.

Public Viewing will be on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Evangelist Stephanie(Alvin)Davenport, 900 Shoemaker Road, West Point, GA.

Micheal Lovelace, Sr. was born to the late Robert Lovelace, Sr. and Jessie Mae Malone-Lovelace on September 8, 1953 in Troup County, Georgia. On Saturday, August 3, 2019, God called him home to depart from this life to be at eternal peace. Micheal grew up in the New Harmony Community. He attended Ethel W. Knight High School in LaGrange, GA. Micheal joined New Harmony CME Church at an early age. He was affectionately known as “Mike.” Although, very talented with his hands, his passion was fishing and the water.

At an early age, Mike married Teresa Cheeks-Lovelace and with this union, three children were born. He moved to Milwaukee, WI, where he started his career with Cutler Hammer. Here he worked for Cutler Hammer for many years before moving back home to follow his true trade, which was his gift from God and that was brick mason. He became a mastered at the masonry work and his work can been seen all over East Alabama and West Georgia! He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Lovelace; brother, Earl Lamar Lovelace; paternal grandparents, Willie and Lizzie Mae Heard Lovelace; maternal grandparents, Walter (Sr.) and Lizzie Mae Gilliam-Malone; niece, Ericka Lovelace. Micheal Lovelace, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories to his four loving children: Teresita Lovelace-Dewberry(Anthony), Micheal Lovelace, Jr., Lamar Lovelace and Stephanie Davenport(Alvin); his loving sister, Peggy Lovelace (Claude) and big brother, Robert Lovelace, Jr. (Sophia). He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Lauren Lovelace, Marcus Neely, Markel Neely, Kennedi Dewberry, Anori Dewberry, Micheal Lovelace III, Kayla Lovelace, Mekael Lovelace, Kiley Lovelace, Lamar Lovelace II and Serita Harvey; three great grand-children, Ja’Myis Chapple, Alaysia Chapple and Avery Chapple. God blessed him with special people that holds a special place, his uncle, Eddie Malone and cousins, Renee Lovelace and Norris Gilliam. Mike,also, leaves to cherish his memories to his uncles and aunts, Eddie and Susan K. Malone, Berkeley, CA, Jimmy and Elois Malone, Menomonee Falls, WI, Joe and Betty Malone, Houston, TX, J.C. Malone, West Point, GA, Lizzie Pearl M. Mathis, West Point, GA, Susie L. James, Chicago, IL, Gertrude Reed, Margaret C. Malone, LaGrange, GA., nephews, host of cousins and friends.
