Mr. Jill Jones was born September 25, 1952 in West Point, Georgia to Willie Hill and Mary L. Jones. He departed this life Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Hospital, Marietta, Georgia.

A Homecoming Celebration Service for Mr. Jill Jones will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. ET in the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point, GA.

Interment will follow in the Marseilles Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the M. W. Mortuary, West Point, GA.

He attended Harrison High School, Class of 1970, where he was an outstanding drum major.

Jill was loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Anybody that truly knew him, knew that he was the life of any gathering and loved to make people laugh. He was employed with the West Point Housing Authority for 19 years as a dedicated maintenance man.

Jill was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Ann Jones and Sue Ellen Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of 24 years Geraldine Jones, West Point, GA; his children, Mona (Larry) Green, Valley, AL, Lakeisa Buckner, West Point, GA, Demarcus Hutchinson, LaGrange, GA, Lashonda Jones, Lanett, AL, Felix (Shauntae) Trammell, Maryland, Francheska Penn, West Point, GA, Tiffany (Earl) McCullough,Valley, AL; one brother, Wayne (Ann) Jones, West Point, GA; two sisters, Willie Lee Sambula and Theresa Davidson both of Lanett, AL; one aunt Ophelia Jones, West Point, GA; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; special friend, Alton “Snake” Scroggins, Jr., a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
