Celebrating a blessed earthly tenure of 96 years, Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs. Jannie Lue Strum Manuel of Florence, Alabama.

Mrs. Manuel, a native of Bullock County, Alabama passed away May 21, 2019 while under the watchful care of her family.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 12:00 noon from the sanctuary of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of the Simsville community. 7350 Highway 82 West Union Springs, Alabama 36089

The pastor, Rev. Jerome Anthony will render a message of comfort and strength.

Interment will follow all services in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Manuel will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Public visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jannie Lue Strum Manuel, daughter of the late Mr. Manuel and Zennie Pitts Strum was born August 22, 1922 in Bullock County, Alabama. She departed this life Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Florence, Alabama.

She confessed her belief in God and was baptized at an early age and became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Simsville Community and served faithful until she became ill.

Mrs. Manuel was preceded in death by her late husband, Mr. John Wesley Manuel, fourteen siblings and grandson, Rufus Edward Ingram, Jr.

She reared three children; Otis (Brenda) Manuel, Troy, Alabama; Patricia (Rufus) Ingram, Florence, AL; Linda Manuel, Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren: Otis Dewayne, Darrell (Faye); A. Maurice; Laskeesha, Whitney, and Eric (Jenny); Sheena; seven great grandchildren: Branden, Darius, ZaNiya, Jakamron, Jade, Niya, Quarteshia; sisters-in laws, Gladys Tellis and Clara Tellis of Union Springs, AL; brother-in law, Thomas Tellis of Sacramento, California, and a host of nieces nephews, family members and friends.
