Maurice Johnson Buckner

With deep love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Maurice J. Buckner.


Mrs. Maurice J. Buckner was born on June 27, 1954, in Fairfax, Alabama. On Monday, April 27, 2026, at 274 Johnson Street, the angels of Heaven stood by her bedside and whispered, “Come with me for eternal rest.”


At an early age, Maurice accepted Christ and united with Hall Memorial CME Church. She later changed her membership to TLC, where she served faithfully.


Maurice was educated in the Valley Public School System and later earning an associate’s degree from Southern Union.


Maurice was known as a loving person, a lady of strength, and never met a stranger. She loved everybody and made lasting friendships that held her family together. Maurice enjoyed shopping, taking cruises and spending time with her family and caring for others. She was always giving with love and welcomed everyone to her home.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosie Johnson; siblings, Jimmy Floyd, Dorothy Floyd, Curtis Floyd, Janice Floyd, Michael Floyd, Sherry Floyd, and Debra Floyd; sisters-in-love, Marie Buckner, Brenda Buckner and brother-in-love, Keith Buckner.
Maurice leaves to cherish her memories and resilience to her husband, David Buckner; children: Andreious Johnson, Myron Johnson, Sr. (Kimberly) , Shannan Buckner, David Johnson, and Damaurice Buckner; grandchildren, Deiontavious, Myron, Andreious, Kymberli, Tahjay, Canaan, Kennedi, David, Trinitee, Daiden, Jaiden, Zadi, Dash, Ava and Addison; great-grandchildren, Levi and Niahla; her siblings, Timothy Floyd, Linda Floyd, Clarence Floyd, and Shirley Floyd; brother -in-love, Kenny Buckner (Tanya), sisters-in love, Patrica Williams, Sarah Buckner, Wanda Buckner, and Lisa Buckner; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.


Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
