Robert Thomas Rhine

04/19/1959 - 04/13/2026

Robert Thomas “Bob” Rhine, age 66 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away Monday April 13th, 2026. Bob was born April 19th, 1959 in Frankfurt, West Germany to the late James and June Rhine.

As the son of US Embassy diplomat parents, Bob began the adventure of life living all over the world. He was gifted at languages and art, and was a lifelong athlete and outdoorsman. He especially loved baseball and fishing. Bob was a steadfast Florida Gators fan, and he never wavered, even while living in Georgia Bulldog Country.

A man of many talents, Bob worked as a meat market manager, and later in drilling and blasting. But what defined Bob was his being an avid outdoorsman. He was a life-long fisherman and a first-rate chef. Despite living overseas and in Florida for many years, Bob’s real home became the mountains and lakes of Dahlonega, Georgia.

Bob was a self-made man which made him a bit of a spiritual skeptic. With time and prayer, Bob softened and before he died he made his peace with his great Savior Jesus Christ.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, James and June. He is survived by his daughter, Claire High (and husband Matt) of Babbitt, Minnesota; his son Dylan Rhine of Dahlonega; two brothers, Greg Rhine (and wife Katherine) of Garland, Texas and Jim Rhine (fiancée Mere) of Los Angeles, California; three grandchildren, Payson Kundinger, Reagan High, and Chandler Rhine; and his dear friend Jennifer Martin.

A memorial service will be held 1PM, Sunday May 3rd at the Thompson Creek Park pavilion, at 570 Thompson Creek Park Rd, Dawsonville GA 30534.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the spinal cord injury unit at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta Georgia. The Shepherd Center is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.
