John William D’Amico, age 72, of Winder, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
John was born on September 23, 1953, in New London, Connecticut, to Salvator and Jeanne D’Amico. He lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a passion for the things he loved most.
John was the proud owner of D’Amico and Son Trucking, where he built a respected business through dedication and determination. Outside of work, he found great joy in racing go-karts and sprint cars, earning many trophies and accomplishments throughout the years.
Of all his achievements, John considered being a father and grandfather his greatest accomplishment. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Courtney D’Amico; his children, Melodie (Greg) Hanson, Whitney Lane, Sean (Amanda) D’Amico, and Lauren (Kintavius) Merritt; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his brother, Lucky D’Amico; and his sisters, Jody Brown and Robin Slate.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date, with details to follow.
John’s legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
