Tribute To Joyce

Joyce was more than a friend; she was my heart and my family for fifteen years. After we spent a year and a half caring for her mother together, I had the honor of caring for Joyce for the last seven years of her life.

For five of those years, we shared a home and spent every day and night together. Joyce was a strong, independent woman—and I took great pride in doing exactly what she asked of me, spoiling her and letting her have her way whenever I could.

I loved her from the moment we met until the day she closed her eyes. She was a mother figure to me, but even more than that, she was my absolute best friend. Her friendship changed my life, and she will never be forgotten.
