Rev. James Richard Dalton, age 64, of Clarkesville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2026.

Rev. Dalton was a hard-working and devoted man who dedicated 37 years of service to Fieldale Farms before retiring. He took great pride in providing for his family and lived a life marked by faith, perseverance, and love.

He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and spending cherished time with his children and grandchildren. Above all else, James loved the Lord with all his heart and faithfully served Him throughout his life. As Scripture says, “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:23), words that reflect the life he lived and the faith he held dear.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Dalton; his daughter, Tina Dalton; his son, Rickey Dalton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Dalton; his father, Otis Dalton; and his two sisters, Joyce Dalton and Louise Dalton.

James was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his legacy of faith, love, and dedication will continue to live on through those whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
