Paul Hutner Works passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 52. He was born on May 3, 1973, in Columbus, Georgia. Paul was born and raised in Columbus, where he spent much of his life and remained deeply connected to his roots.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Works. He is survived by his biological mother, Teresa Cummins, and his beloved mother, Martha Works King, who raised him. Paul leaves behind his beloved child, Jhmyra Lanae Works-Sparks, who was a cherished part of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Leo Works, along with extended family and loved ones who will remember him fondly. He was a proud 1991 graduate of Hardaway High School, where he was known for his standout moments as a star football player. Many also remember him from his years delivering bread for Sara Lee, as well as his time working as a dedicated security guard. Paul will be remembered for his life, his presence, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Works will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Progressive with interment at Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
