Obituary For Mrs. Joyce Smith Harris

Harris, Mrs. Joyce Ann Smith, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. (EST) from Community Baptist Church, Valley, AL with Pastor David L. Core, Sr., Eulogist and Rev. James E. Brown, Jr., Officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Valley, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Joyce is the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Clifford and Mattie Houston Smith. At an early age, she joined Mountain Spring Baptist Church in Salem, AL and after re-locating, she became a member of Community Baptist Church in Valley.

Her survivors include: her daughter, Shereen (Kevie) Brown, Lanett, AL; two granddaughters, Jocelyn (Drew) Madden and Lazhria Hicks both of Lanett, AL; four sisters, Mary (Sam) Strickland, Opelika, AL, Juanita Smith and Helen (Tony) McCulloh both of Valley, AL and Jeanette (Rev. James, Jr.) Brown, Smiths Station, AL; three brothers, Tommy (Yolanda) Smith, Valley, AL, Command Sergeant Major (Ret) Walter Smith, Murfreesboro, TN and Chester Smith, Lanett, AL; five aunts, Annie J. Madden, Opelika, AL, Virginia (Walter) Madry and Annie Sykes both of Valley, AL, Annie J. Stallworth and Mary L. Smith both of Lanett, AL; special friends, Debra A. Phillips, Brenda Gates, Dorothy Harris, Elder Mary Boykins, Joey Finley and Petra Abel; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
