Obituary For Ed Wright

Mr. Ed Wright ,86,of Lanett Alabama passed away on 12/20/2018 at EAMC in Opelika AL.

Visitation will be held at Lanett 1st Methodist Church, Lanett AL on Sunday December 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM EST followed by Funeral Service at 3:00 PM EST at Lanett 1st Methodist Church.

Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett, AL.

Mr. Wright was born Monday, May 18, 1931, in Augusta, Georgia, the son of the late Mason Wright and Mildred Wright Peters . He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served as the City Clerk of Lanett for 17 years and was involved in many areas of the community at that time. He later retired from Share Corp after another 17 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lanett, where he was a Sunday School teacher for more than 40 years and was very active in the Men’s Club holding all of the offices in the club. Mr. Wright enjoyed woodworking, gardening and all yard work. He was a long time member of the Lanett Kiwanis Club and was a sports enthusiast, enjoying SEC sports. He loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons: Ed Wright, Jr. (Helen) and Steven Wright; his grandchildren, Kristin Wright Hardy (Dan), Wes Wright (Robyn) and Brent Wright; his great grandchildren, Piper Hardy, Trent Hardy, Samuel Wright and Rowen Wright.
