Melissa Scoggins, 53, of Ila, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family. Born December 5, 1971, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Melissa brought warmth and creativity to every life she touched.

Melissa cherished time spent with her family, and her greatest joy was being with her three children: Michael Scoggins, Jacob Scoggins, and Lilly(Christopher)Coker.

Melissa spent her time with her three children. She loved to fish, go to the lake, and visit botanical gardens. She also enjoyed diamond art, drawing, coloring, doing puzzles, and playing board games. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and she enjoyed going to see the Christmas lights every year.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Darren Scoggins; her children; and her sisters, Patricia(Steve)Kitchens and Misty Breeding.
Nephews Patrick, Zachary, Joshua(Justin) and Elisha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, MaryAnn and Charles Breeding, and her sister Pamela Dyer.
