Obituary For Robert E. Williams

Robert E. Williams, 95, of Pine Mountain, Georgia passed away in his home on Dec. 6, 2018.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. EST from Holy Family Catholic Church in Lanett. Celebrant is father Bruce Krause, interment will be Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia. The family will greet friends immediately after the mass at the Parrish Hall.

Mr. Williams was born on Oct. 28, 1923 in Harris County, Georgia the son of Lucy Striplin and Samuel Edward Williams. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his military service, he worked on Canaan Farms at Jones Crossroads until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the William Merna Sr. Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was a devoted hard-working husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Lorraine F. Williams, their five sons and daughters in law; Bobby and Mary Katherine, Andy and Yong Hui, Johnny and Gail, David and Alicia, Michael and Margaret; one sister in law; Nancy Fournier and 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by brother and sister-in-law Perry and Martha Williams, sister Mary Williams and sister and brother-in-law Claude and Martha Ann Handley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the William Merna Sr. Council of the Knights of Columbus No. 03859 at the church, 705 North Third Avenue, Lanett, Alabama 36863, or West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Road in LaGrange, Georgia, 30240.
