Mrs. Equilla Gardner King transitioned home Tuesday at Columbus Hospice. She was 90 hears of age.

A daughter of the late Ms. Charlie Mae Gardner, Mrs. King was born in Cusseta, GA and was a graduate of Cusseta Industrial High School. She was a devout member of Bethel AME Church where she served with the Hostess Committee. Mrs. King was employed with over 50 years of service as a nursing technician at the Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Arthur King, Jr., and five siblings, Martha Turner (Robert), Jimmie Alexander (Charles), Rosa B. Walton (Hazel), Lee Ola Flagg (Rev. J.C.) and Katie B. Thomas (Ivory).

Survivors include: her daughter, Terri Young; a grandson, Jeremiah Scott; one sister, Queenie Spivey; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. King will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel AME Church in Cusseta with interment following in the Church Cemetery. Pastor Curtis Frazier will officiate.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Church.

The cortege will depart from the funeral home at 12:15 on the day of the service.
