Obituary For Mr. Albert “Tip” Washington

Washington, Mr. Albert L., a.k.a. "Tip" and "Sweet Al", a resident of Lanett, AL, died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dr. Lamar D. Johnson, Pastor of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church of Lanett officiating.

Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Lanett, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Albert Lee Washington, Jr. was born June 22, 1952 in Chambers County, Alabama to Albert Lee “A.L.” and Essie Mae Heard Washington. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama where he remained a member until God called him home. Before his illness, he was a Sunday School attendee and would often assist in the set-up of the Family Life Center for different functions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Lee Heard; and, one sister, Mary Ann McCullough. Albert Lee Washington, Jr. gained his wings on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his siblings, Nina Heard, Valley, AL, Herbert “Fish” Heard, Christopher Heard and Lamar Washington all of Lanett, AL; grandmother, Lula Mae Washington, Lanett, AL; two aunts, Annie Lou Heard and Ethel Winston both of Lanett, AL; two great-uncles, J. G. Goss and Robert (Mattie) Goss both of Lanett, AL; nieces, Corinthian “Shay” (Marcus) Gables, Montgomery, AL, Tyesha Ferrell and LaShanta Wallace both of Valley, AL, Bobbie Finley, Barbara Finley, Sabrina Finley and Olivia Varner all of Lanett, AL; nephews, Calvin Finley and Courtney McCullough both of Lanett, AL; special cousins, Betty Winston, Lanett, AL and Patricia Huguley, West Point, GA; and, a host of other loving relatives and friends.
