Obituary For Shirley Powell

Mrs. Shirley Powell,77, of Valley Alabama passed away Wednesday October 31,2018 at EAMC in Opelika Alabama. Mrs. Powell was born December 31st, 1941 in Dekalb County Alabama to the late Robert and Nettie Wilson Rollins.

She is survived by her husband Aubrey Powell; sisters Shelby J. (Manuel) Dalton and Bobbie Huddleston; her daughters Mariesa (Danny) Spradlin, Rachelle (John) Fortenberry, Sharon Swader; grandchildren Robert (Jada) Swader, Samantha Carlisle, Jared Carlisle, Claire Fortenberry, and Ava Fortenberry: She was preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters.

Mrs. Powell enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and was loved by all who knew her. “Jesus Loves You, hello” were the words you heard every time you called her. Her love for Christ was shared with every ring of the phone. She loved every one she met. Once you stepped inside her home you were family. Her love and compassion are her legacy. While we miss her here, Heaven is rejoicing! “Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant” Matthew 25:21

There will be a visitation on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM EDT until 8:00 PM EDT at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett, AL. Services for Mrs. Powell will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM EDT at Bluffton Funeral Services followed by Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama.

Reverend David Waldrop will be officiating.
