Frances Elenor (Pal) Reeves passed away in West Point, Georgia on May 1, 2025 at the age of 98. She was born in Selma, Alabama on July 22, 1926.
Pal received an Ed.D. from Auburn University in 1977 and specialized in marriage and family counseling after graduating from Mercer University in 1945 with a B.A. Degree in Psychology. She was a Director of Auburn University Alumni Association, a member of Auburn Human Sciences Development Board, Trustee of Mercer University and Trustee of Rockridge Baptist Association. Mrs. Reeves was Chairman and Owner of Skinner’s Furniture Stores and Vice-President and Director of Valley National Bank.
She was preceded in death by her parents O.G. and Thula Skinner, husband Charles Reeves and son, Dan McLane.
Mrs. Reeves is survived by her children, Mike (Helen), Tim, and Neil (Mariana) McLane, David (Lynn) Reeves, Nancy (Steve) Wheeler and her daughter-in-law Debbie McLane. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Reeves will be held at First Baptist Church in West Point, Georgia on Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 PM EST. Visitation and refreshments will be served in the Gold Room afterwards.
Memorials can be made to West Point First Baptist Church to the Meals on Wheels Program and to Reeds Chapel Baptist Church for the New Desire Christian Ministry.
