Mr. Johnny R. Mays passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the age of 69. He was born on April 19, 1955 to the late Emmett Mays and Gloria Davis Mays in Columbus.

Mr. Mays was a 1973 graduate of Baker High School and was employed with the Columbus Consolidated Government for 25 years. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Cherishing his memories is his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Mays; children, Johnny, Jr., Antonio, Kevin, Tamara and Tia; eight grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Michael Mays; sister-in-law, Eva Harris (Dave); brothers-in-law, Willie Williams (Linda) and J.W. Williams; and a host of other family and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Johnny Mays will be held on THursday, April 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Progressive with interment at Evergreen Memorial Garden. Visitation will be Wednesday 2 until 5:00 PM.
