Wyonda Celeste Hudson

12/04/1965 - 03/13/2025

On December 4, 1965, Wyonda Celeste Hudson was born to parents Thaddeus Hudson Jr. and Elease M. Hudson in Lumpkin, Georgia. Her family later relocated to Columbus, Georgia, where she was baptized at Wynnton Hill Baptist Church, where her mother faithfully served. After graduating from Carver High School in June 1984, Wyonda proudly volunteered to defend this nation as a member of the United States Air Force. Following her honorable military service, Wyonda’s last place of employment was with Total Systems Services, Inc. in Columbus, Georgia, where she was nearing retirement.

Wyonda gave birth to a beautiful, attentive daughter, Ebony Williams of Columbus, Georgia; they were almost inseparable. Wyonda’s parents are both deceased, and she was the youngest of ten children: Mrs. Gwendolyn Perkins (Kyle, TX), Mrs. Jacqueline DuBose (Lawrenceville, GA), Mr. Leonard Hudson (Wilmer, TX), Mr. Gary Hudson (deceased), Mr. Thaddeus Hudson III (Columbus, GA), Ms. Denise Hudson (Midland, GA), Mr. Larry Hudson (Clanton, AL; spouse Denise), Mrs. Sonya Leeds (deceased; spouse Jacque), and Mr. Patrick Hudson (Columbus, GA).

On the afternoon of March 13, 2025, our beautiful Wyonda was tragically taken from her family and friends in Columbus, Georgia. Just three days prior, Wyonda bravely stood by the bedside as her beloved sister Sonya took her last breath. Wyonda and Sonya were very close and did most things together—each gave birth to their lovely daughters two weeks apart and left this world only three days apart. These charming sisters will never be forgotten and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved them. May they rejoice in Heaven as they reunite with their parents and brother Gary (“Skeet”).

The Homegoing Celebration for Wyonda will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:30 PM graveside at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
