Jean Byrd, 79, of Columbus GA died Saturday March 15 at The Landings.

The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Jean Byrd will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Progressive ~ Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 12 PM.

Jean Byrd was born February 11, 1946 to the late John Gurusaransingh and Marie Gopee Gurusaransingh in Trinidad. She was born in Trinidad. She lived in New York City in the Bronx for 30+ years. She enjoyed cooking, having great parties, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Other than her parents she is predeceased in death by her husband Joseph Burke, Jenny Nagassar (sister), Rodney and Irving Gurusaransingh (brothers). She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Wiley (Art) Grandchildren (Shelby Holland, Asia and Jalen Wiley) and Great granddaughters (Nova and Rael), sisters Winnie Raymond(Rudie), Lucy Boneo, brothers, Hubert G. Singh, Fred G. Singh(Maureen), George G. Singh (Joan) and at least 24 or more nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Waddell Elementary for school supplies. Those that are out of state that would like to make a donation to the school, please contact the daughter, Mrs. Ann-Marie Wiley for donation information.
