Conrad Cornelius King

SSG (Retired) Conrad C. King passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the age of 67. He was born on November 30, 1957 to the late George and Inez Dean King in Jackson, AL. SSG King served 20 years as an Infantry soldier for the Unites States Army. He had great appreciation for training soldiers as a Drill Sergeant while stationed at Ft. Benning Ga, where he eventually retired making Columbus Ga his home. After serving his country, he transitioned to helping any and everyone that he could full-time. He was a beloved member of Ambassadors of Christ Fellowship church, where he served as an usher, grounds keeper, handyman, door greeter and cook. All of his efforts led to him earning a volunteer of the year award. Conrad had a passion for nurturing plants as well as growing fruits and vegetables. He provided all of his harvests to his fellow church members, family and neighbors free of charge. If given monetary donations for his harvest, he would donate the funds to Operation Christmas Child, his favorite charity.

Conrad is survived by his wife Doris King. His children: Javana, Javarick and Jakina King, and his grandchildren: Trinity (18), Aliyah (16), Peyton(14), Mia(14), Joshua(11), Jaden(11), Adelyn(4), and Zamier(4).

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. King will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 in the Chapel of Progressive at 11:30 AM with interment at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
