Rosalind Caroll Banks

Rosalind Carrol Banks, 46, of Laurel, Maryland, died peacefully on November 16, 2024.


Rosalind was born on June 21, 1978, in Columbus, Georgia, to the (late) Lewis Green Jr. and Ruth (Ray) Green. Raised in Columbus, she grew up in a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values.


On July 27, 2001, Rosalind married the love of her life, Thomas Banks, in Columbus, Georgia. Together, they built a life filled with love, partnership, and devotion, raising three wonderful children.
Rosalind graduated from Hardaway High School and earned her Associate of Arts degree in Culinary Arts at Savannah Technical College. Fueled by her passion for baking, she launched a successful baking business named Rosycakes, bringing joy to many with her delicious creations.
Later, Rosalind discovered her other calling as an educator. As a teacher at Brock Bridge
Elementary, she was a source of inspiration and encouragement, adored by her students and colleagues alike. Her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on the many young lives she touched.
A devoted member of Bread of Life Christian Center during her formative years, Rosalind
worshipped passionately and sang in the choir, spreading joy and faith through her music. Her spiritual journey continued throughout her travels, where she found another church home at Celebration Church on Monroe in Baltimore, Maryland.
Rosalind will be remembered for her vibrant personality, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. She brought warmth and light into every room she entered and was a beacon of strength and kindness to all who knew her.


Rosalind was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Green Jr.; sister Saadia Ray and brother Herschel Ray.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 23 years, Thomas Banks; their three children, Christian Jackson, Daquan Banks, and Thomas Shawn Banks; and grandson Ke’von Banks; her mother Ruth Green; Mother-in-love, Lynette Banks her siblings, Arbura Allen, Sharon Phillips (Gordan Phillips), and Lewis Green III (Mary):and a host nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and “adopted” children and friends.


Rosalind’s life was a testament to love, faith, and perseverance. Her family, friends, and all she touched are forever fortunate to have been a part of her extraordinary journey.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Banks will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Bread of Life Christian Ministries with interment at Evergreen Memorial Garden.

Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 5:00 PM at Progressive.
