Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Corinth, Georgia.

The family will be at 314 Boozer Street in Hogansville, Ga.

John Oliver Glanton, affectionately known as “John Boy”, was born August 3, 1957, in Hogansville, Georgia, to the late Forrest Edward “Monk” Glanton Sr., and the late Willie “Mae” Glanton.

John peacefully departed this life on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at his home.

John was a man of strong faith who always professed his love for the Lord. He loved to watch and listen to Joel Osteen and have his worship service in the comfort of his own home. John attended West End High School in Hogansville, Georgia, and was known to those who knew him as the comedian of the family, because he always kept you laughing. Following school, John began to work in the manufacturing field, which is the type of work he did up until his death. John was known to be a hard worker and a very dedicated employee at Continental Contitech, where he worked for more than 18 years and was still employed with them at the time of his death.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest E. Glanton Sr., and Wille Mae Glanton; brothers, Forrest E. Glanton Jr., James Cleveland Glanton, and Alton Glanton; and sister, Emma Lou Glanton.

John leaves to cherish his memories, brothers, Arthur (Karen) Glanton, Willie Glanton, De’Ontekon Foster, Mondrecus Foster, and Greg Foster; sister, Eterica Littleton; four aunts, Emily Gamble, Sara Glanton, Rosa Moore and Shirley Banks; four uncles, Edward Glanton, Willie Banks, Robert (Faye) Banks, and Roma Banks; special children, Marquez Harden, Montavious Rhodes, and Derek Holt; a special friend, Jessica Nolosco-Amaya; and a host of nieces, nephews and many others whose hearts he touched.
