Mr. Willie Edward “Deda” Wright, 73, of West Point, GA transitioned on September 23, 2024 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, GA.

A Time to Be Planted: Mr. Willie Edward Wright, Jr. was born August 27, 1951, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Willie L. & Mamie Wright of West Point, Georgia. He received his education from Harrison High School, class of 1970. After graduation he attend Texas Tech College. He returned home to take care of his dear mother, and that was the beginning of his dedication to his family.
A Time to Love: Willie met the love of his life Hester Bridges Wright in 1970. They were married for Fifty-three beautiful years. In this union they were blessed with two wonderful children, son Jeffery Wright (his advisor) and daughter LaTrishia Wright (his angel). Willie played a significant role in his grandchildren lives encouraging them to trust in the lord and the sky is the limit. He never missed a game, and always showed support. (Justice Wright, Jazmin McCarden, Javon & Jaylan Brown, Ashley Brooks).
Mr. Willie never met a stranger. Everywhere he went, everyone would always have something nice to say about him. He always gave you a word from the Lord and was always willing to pray with you and for you. Pastor Jefferson said it best, “Willie checks all the boxes of a good man.”
A Time of Peace: On September 23, 2024, Mr. Willie Wright passed away peacefully at WellStar Hospital in LaGrange, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family. He walked into heaven and entered the Golden Gates into his father’s hands. Job well done my faithful son. No more suffering, no more pain, take your crown.


A Time to Mourn: Mr. Willie Wright leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Hester Wright; children, Jeffery Wright, Latrishia Wright; grandchildren, Justice Wright, Jazmin McCarden, Ashely Brooks, Javon Brown, and Jaylan Brown, eleven great-children; devoted brother, Willie B. (Gwen) Wright; devoted, sister, Joyce (Vernon) Askew; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family. He was preceded in death by sisters, Juland Smith and Mattie Wright; brothers, Ollin Wright and Limmie Wright.

Funeral Services for Mr. Wright will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. ET at the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 2400 Old West Point Road,West Point, GA 31833 with Rev. LaFredrick Bridges, Pastor/Eulogist, Apostle Calvin Jefferson, Pastor Cowenda Jefferson and Kenny Thornton, assisting. Interment to follow in the Westview Cemetery, Austin Street,West Point, GA 31833
Public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. ET until 6:00 p.m. ET at the mortuary.
