Mr. Albert Lewis Sr. passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in Phenix City at the age of 91. He was born on September 6, 1932 to the late Lonzie Lewis and Mattie White in Eufaula, AL.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Lewis, Sr will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM at Pinehurst Baptist Church interment at Evergreen Memorial Garden.

Visitation Friday begins at 12 until 5:00 PM at Progressive.

SFC (Ret.) Albert Lewis, Sr. peacefully departed from this world on May 1, 2024, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his beloved wife Carrie B. Lewis. Albert leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children Albert Lewis Jr. (Stella), Dorothy A. Lewis-Pitts (Walter), Willie James Lewis (Hanna), and Shirley Jean Lewis (Herman); his brother in law McDuffie Lias (Claudia); sister in laws Earlie Brundidge, Christine Lias, Jeannie Mae Lias, Annie Lias; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In his 91 years on this earth, Albert lived a life of purpose and meaning, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He shared his love of travel with his family, exploring new destinations after becoming twice retired, and creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come. In addition to his roles as a devoted father and grandfather, Albert was a dedicated member of Pinehurst Baptist Church, a Masonic elder, member of American Legion Post 35, and the 40/8 Club.

As we mourn the loss of Albert, let us remember the joy and laughter he brought into our lives, and the enduring impact he had on those around him. May his memory be a blessing and may his spirit continue to guide and inspire us in the days ahead. “If the river doesn’t rise, and the creek don’t flood [we] will be alright!”
