Chancey P. Rich

Mr. Chancey Pruett Rich, a.k.a. Swamp, 54, of Nicholson, Ga passed away on April 28, 2024. Mr. Rich was born in Athens, Ga. He played high school football for the Clarke Central Gladiators from 1984-1988. That’s where he picked up the nickname Swamp. He was a very talented artist and musician. He lived in Augusta, Ga. for many years. He played bass for HOGSLOBBER, and for THE DECREPITS. He also worked as a well known Tattoo Artist. He moved back to Athens, Ga. in 2013. In 2014, he married his Clarke Central classmate, Lisa Mitchell. He had various jobs and played bass for REDNECKATRON.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior. He attended New Covenant Worship Center.

Mr. Rich is survived by his wife: Lisa Rich, two children: Malachi Potter and Shiloh Rich.
Maternal side: mother, Shirley Cheatham, brother: Sidney Cheatham (Marcy), grandparents: the late Melton & Nellie Pruett, aunts: Bonita Bates (Jimmy), Eloise Stewart (Danny), the late Barbra Adams (Fred), and the late Rosa Barnes (the late Johnny), uncle: Rev. Larry Pruett (June), and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paternal side: dad, Bobby Rich (Erah), sisters: Laurie May (Jeff), Aimee Felton (Chip), grandparents: the late Dorsey & Jeanette Rich, aunt: Martha Osley (Randy), uncles: Tommy Rich (Lisa), and the late Allen Rich, and multiple nephews and cousins.
