Mrs. Willie Ethel Wright Cofield was born October 23, 1941, in Chambers County Alabama, to the late Joe Nathan Wright Sr. and the late Hattie Wright of Lanett, Alabama. At an early age, she took the step of faith and surrendered her life to Christ and became a member of New Zion Baptist Church, Lanett, Alabama.
She was a graduate of Lanier High School in Lanett, AL.

Willie Ethel devoted her life to being a devoted and dedicated wife to the late George Lee Cofield Sr. and mother to her six children. After rearing her kids, she took on the occupation of
taken care of not only her grandchildren, but her extended families as well. Willie Ethel had a heart of gold. She loved her children, grandkids, extended families as well as anyone she met.

She departed this life Friday, March 29, 2024 at EAMC in Opelika, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe Nathan Wright Jr.; her sister, Carrie Lou Edwards; her grandchild, Tabitha Tucker; great grandchild, Damoni Davidson, and sister-in-law, Barbara Wright.

Willie Ethel leaves to cherish her memories to her six children, Deborah Cofield (Farrow), George Lee Cofield Jr, Delissa (Lorenzo) Williams, Regina Cofield, Patricia Cofield, and Terrence Cofield all of Lanett, Alabama; 15 grandchildren, Shereka (Rodericus) Booker, Mario Farrow, Daphne Floyd, Toranta Cofield, Annie Tucker, Edwin Cofield, Perese Cofield, Wayne Cofield, Gregory (Jessica) Boozer, Alyssa (Homer) Jennings, Shamaya (Tramikieus) Cofield, Carnisha Jones, Tobias Martin, Terrence Cofield Jr., and Tre-vus Cofield; 44 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary King; four nieces and two nephews; the Oliver Family and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cofield will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. ET in the sanctuary of the New Zion Baptist Church, 1516 44th Avenue, SW, Lanett, AL, with Rev. W.C. Atkinson serving as the Eulogist. Interment will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for Mrs. Cofield will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
