We are saddened to announce the peaceful transition of Melissa Johns on Saturday, February 17, 2024

Memorial service for Melissa Johns will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 in the chapel of Wright’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 3:00 until service time.

Melissa Johns’ earthly journey ended quietly at home surrounded by loved ones February 17, 2024 after a long battle with dementia. She was a faithful child of God, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She will be missed greatly. Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Ola Ruth and Howard Mask. She is survived by her husband, Robert, sisters, Melba Brazzell (Bennie) and Dorothy Mask, daughters, Mary Boudreaux (Kenny), Crystal Galvez, Jennifer Johns, and Samantha Courtney (Rob), her grandchildren, Amber D’Olimpio, Corey Bishop, Madison Johns, Alohna Galvez,, Michael Galvez and Kassadi Johns, great grandchildren Sullivan, Rowen, Jude and Aspen. Also, many other nieces, nephews and church children called her grandmama.
