Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Great Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with interment following in the Alexander City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Murph will lie in repose one hour prior of the service.
Sis. Bethany Murph a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend was born on October 2, 1953 in Alexander City, Alabama. She was born to the Albert Benson and Dorothy Barefield. On Saturday, June 30, 2018, she departed this life surrounded with love of her family. Sis. Murph love for God led her to unite with the Seleeta Baptist Church at an early age. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jerry Benson and one sister Pastor Edna Ruth Flowers Bethany’s legacy and lifetime of memories will always be cherished by the ones she loved and the ones who loved her: a loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Eugene Murph, Alexander City, Alabama; five daughters, Iris (Bernard) Hunter, Tywana (Javarious) Flower, Yulanda Black, LaShanda Black and Sherona Black; two step-daughters, Stephanie Johnson (Robert) and Shirley Marable, one step-son, Steven Murph, her siblings Albert (Hazel) Benson, III, Lonnie (Dorothy) Benson, Bonetta Benson, James (Mary) Benson, Calvin Benson, Rev. Stanford (Dorothy Faye) Benson, Perry Benson, Monica Benson, Willie Frank (Susie) Davis all of Alexander City, Alabama, William (Mary) Davis of Sacramento, California, Leoneal (Juliette) Davis, Robert (Karen) Davis, Skokie, Illinois, Gene (Clara) Tucker, both of Montgomery, Alabama, Blake (Gail) Barefield, Beach Park, Illinois; 13 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
