Rev. Earnest J. Tyler III (SSG Retired USA) passed away quietly Tuesday at his home at the age of 62. A native of Miami, FL and the son of the late Earnest J. and Levonia Smith Tyler, Rev. Tyler retired from the U.S. Army after over 20 years of services and also served the Georgia Department of Corrections as Captain giving 17 years of service. He along with his wife, Dr. Sandra L. Tyler was founders and Co-Pastors of Lovingkindness Ministries, Inc. He was a former member of Cathedral of Prayer Church of God in Christ and attended Luther Rice College and Seminary.
Other than his loving and devoted wife, Rev. Tyler is survived by his children, Ernest Tyler IV (Natasha), Omar Tyler (Marie), Erich Tyler (Jherika), Kahlee Tyler (Danielle), John Dawson, Jr, Josiah Dawson (Christina), TeKeya Lacey and Keia Medlock; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, Craig Tyler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rev. Tyler will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 after a Ten O'clock AM Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of Cathedral of Prayer Church of God in Christ with Drs. Charles and Gloria Rodgers officiating.
Visitation is Noon til 5:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
