Ms. Ruby Dean Dowell, the daughter of the late Mrs. Nellie Mae Wallace and the late Mr. Mose Dowell Sr., was born on March 29, 1959, in Troup County, GA. She peacefully entered eternal rest on July 9, 2023, at WellStar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.

Ruby accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church in West Point, GA.

She was a graduate of West Point High School, class of 1979. Ruby Dean loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed doing her puzzles books, reading, and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Leroy Wallace Jr., Virginia Davidson, Janice Henderson, Barbara Billingslea, and Louellen Dowell.

A legacy of unconditional love is entrusted to the following survivors: two loving and devoted sisters, Maggie Ruth Billingslea and Margaret Marie Wallace of West Point, GA; two brothers Mose (Debra) Dowell of Lanett, AL and Ronald Dowell of LaGrange, GA; nieces, Priscilla Goodwin, Trina Gunsby, Pamela Okundaye, Georgina (Chadwick) Pritchard, Keyonda Polen, Aneshia Shealy, Armiee (Chezzy) Williams of West Point, GA, Angela (Antwon) Green of LaGrange, GA, Christy Henderson of Opelika, AL, Diane (Christopher) Dowell of Lanett, AL, Shanicious Cooper of Atlanta, GA, Tameka and Dedra Wallace of Chicago, IL; NEPHEWS, Ancion Wallace of Lanett, AL, Dikembe Billingslea, Gus Davidson, Jermario Polen, Quinderius Heard of West Point, GA, Antonio Cooper of LaGrange, GA, John Timmons of Chicago, IL, Bryon (Yolanda) Wallace of Atlanta, GA, Emmett (Ashanti) Davdison Jr. of Phenix City, AL, Gelvin Polen of Newnan, GA, and Don (Natasha) Dowell of Valley, AL, and an array of great nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special friend and neighbor Memie Dawson

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. EDT in the sanctuary of the New Dimensions Worship Center, 5610 20th Avenue, Valley, AL 36854 with Bishop Donald Lancaster, Pastor, Rev. Patrick Turner, Eulogist and Evangelist Stephanie Davenport, assisting.

Interment will follow in the Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, GA.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
