Ms. Vita Bernice Sewell, born on July 16, 1940, peacefully passed away on June 30, 2023, with her loving son by her side. She was born in Meriwether County as the ninth of fourteen (14) children to the late Henry and Lulene Freeman.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM, St. Paul CME Church in Lone Oak, Georgia.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery located on Hwy 54 in Lone Oak.
At the request of the family, there will be NO PUBLIC VIEWING. Flowers can be sent to the Funeral Home.
Vita's life was a beacon of God's love, as her light shone through every action and encounter. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, and community member. After graduating from Greenville Consolidated High School in June 1959, she moved to Atlanta with her young family and continued her education at Atlanta Area Technical College. Following her graduation, she worked diligently at a chicken factory and later at SunTrust as a printer until her retirement. Vita's unwavering faith guided her in raising her family in Christ, attending church faithfully both in Atlanta and at home (Grantville, GA) and ensuring her children were deeply connected to their family.
She was an active member of St. Paul C.M.E Church, serving on the usher board and contributing to various church activities whenever possible. Vita was also involved in the American Union Relief Society and the Blue Angels Social Club. Her dedication to her family, friends, and community knew no bounds, as she selflessly offered her time, resources, and love. After retirement, she volunteered at the Luthersville Senior Citizen Center and provided a nurturing home for numerous foster children.
Vita is survived by her loving children: Dennis R. Sewell and Charlone S. King (Wendell); cherished grandchildren: LaVeda R. Travis, Dennis R. Sewell II (Carol), LaToria C. Butts (Brandon), and Denise R. Zavras (Alexander); adored great-grandchildren: Kaylen J. Levell, Kameren L. Levell, Brianna M. Sewell, Gabrielle K. White, and Cyrus S. Zavras; and great-great-grandchild, Khalani R. Hawthorne. She is also survived by dear siblings: Juanita Connally (James), Annette Grady (Mel), Janette Grady (Robert), Robert Freeman (Loretta), and Charles Freeman (Laverne). Vita will be warmly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie James Sewell, and siblings: Mattie Ruth (James), Curtis Freeman, Miriam Elder (Carl), Geraldine Pinson (Jimmy), James H. Freeman (Clara), Gene Freeman (Rose), Louis Freeman, and Baby Boy Freeman.
