Deborah “Deb” Williams Johnson

12/10/1950 - 05/02/2023

Deborah Williams Johnson, a native of West Point, GA, was born on December 10, 1950, to the late Ethel and Howard Williams, Sr. She peacefully departed this life on May 2, 2023, at her home.

“Deb”, as she was affectionately known, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W.T. Edmondson. She worked in various capacities over the years. She was employed by Diversicare.

Nursing Home in Lanett, AL and Long Cane Middle School in LaGrange, GA for over 15 years where she served diligently in the cafeteria.

She received her education in the West Point City School System where she was a member of the Harrison High School class of 1968.

She was most known for her sense of humor and her honesty. You could always count on Deb to “tell it like it is”. She found joy in sitting on the porch laughing and chatting with her neighbors. When she wasn’t sitting on the porch, you could find her relaxing in her recliner watching her favorite TV show, Gun Smoke.

She was preceded in death by her sons: Charles Williams, John Hicks, and Christopher Hicks; and her sisters, Angela Williams and Judy Walker.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a loving husband of 38 years, Freddie Johnson; two devoted children: Tabbitha (Anthony) Stephens of Lanett, AL and Keymone (Charletta) Hicks of West Point, GA; two sisters, Mary Patillo of Lanett, AL and Wanda (Daniel) Williams of LaFaytte, AL; three brothers, Howard (Aurelia) Williams of Lanett, AL, Robert (Lee) Williams of Cleveland, OH, and Harold Gilliam of West Point, GA; a devoted daughter-in-late, Patricia Davis, Wes Point, GA; special friends, Paula Anderson and Karen Thompson, a god daughter, Angela Hill; god son, Michael McQueen; Deborah’s legacy also leaves 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends
