Obituary For Joy L. Stripling

Joy L. Stripling left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2023 at the age of 85. She was survived by her two daughters, Sandy Lowery Tucker (Mac) and Wanda Lowery Brown (Doug) of LaFayette; her grandchildren, Kyle Brown (Kellie), Manda Tucker (John) and Evan Tucker; one sister, Ruby Nell Robertson and sister-in-law, Louise Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Veller Clanton and Beulah Clanton; her late husbands, Thomas Lloyd Lowery and Henry Stripling; her brother, VL Clanton and her sister, Betty Jean Higgins.

Graveside services were held on February 28, 2023 at the LaFayette City Cemetery in LaFayette, Alabama.

Joy was a “miracle child” sent from Heaven to place her mark on this earth and leave a long time memory on all the hearts that she touched. She was a strong Christian and always wanted to make sure everyone knew the Lord. She loved her family with her whole heart. She had a unconditional servant’s heart for people, especially for the sick and lonely. You may have met her as a stranger but you would leave her as a friend. You might forget about her but she would not forget about you. She was a joy and inspiration to anyone she met, and she will leave a memorable place in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family sends their appreciation and gratitude to all those special people who loved her deeply and especially to those that took such gentle care of her in the last days of her life.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Chattahoochee Hospice in Valley, Alabama.

Mrs. Joy was sweet spirit and kind lady. She once gave me one of her angels after she learned of my home buring. She always had a smile on her face when she came in the pharmacy. Prayers for your family during this difficult time.
