A native of Titus, AL and the son of the late George and Estelle Swindall Pierson, Walter retired from the U.S. Army after over 30 years of faithful and meritorious service. He received his associates degree from Troy State University. He also retired as an ROTC Instructor in both Bullock County, AL and Talbot County, GA School Districts. He was a member of Cusseta Road Church of Christ. His hobbies included playing golf and gardening. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie Watts Pearson.
Survivors include two daughters, Kassandra Pearson-Smith (Larry) and Karen Jenkins (Tony); a son, Kenneth Pearson; five grandchildren, Illysa, Porche, Taryn, Anthony and Eric; six great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Pearson (Katherine); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Command Sergeant Major Pearson will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Annie at the National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL on Thursday, March 2, 2023 following a Twelve O'clock Noon Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of the Cusseta Road Church of Christ officiated by Dr. Elliott C. Glasgow. Service will be live-streamed (see clickable link below)
Visitation is Wednesday 2:00 til 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
