Tammy Renea “Tam” Comer

08/04/1970 - 02/24/2023

Mrs. Tammy Renea Comer, the daughter of Eddie Joe Ridgeway, and the late Lula Mae Ridgeway, was born on August 4, 1970 in Valley, Alabama. Surrounded by her loving family, Tammy peacefully departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 24, 2023 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Alabama.

At an early age, Tammy accepted Christ and united with New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama, where she served faithfully until her health began to decline.

Tammy received her education in the Troup County Public Schools, where she attended Troup High School. Tammy was employed by Cagle’s Chicken Plant in Hamilton, Georgia, and Ryan’s in LaGrange, Georgia, until her health began to decline.

In April of 1991, she joined in holy matrimony to John Travis Comer.

She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, traveling with her siblings, and nurturing her grandchildren. Tammy always greeted you with a smile on her face and in her own way of making people laugh. There was never a dull moment when she was around. She was preceded in death by her mother; Lula Mae Ridgeway and aunt, Martha Lovelace Davidson.

Tammy leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband, John Travis Comer of Valley, Alabama; two devoted daughters, Rosheeka (Brandon) Ridgeway of Valley, Alabama, Jelecia (Eric) Comer of LaGrange, Georgia; two devoted sons, Jontavious Ridgeway of West Point, Georgia, and Travis (Kyzenthe) Comer of Auburn, Alabama; one brother, Dexter Ridgeway; two sisters, Tamicha (Herman) Avery of Valley, Alabama, and LaTasha (Eddie) Hamilton of West Point, Georgia; one special friend, Cassandra Asberry; 13 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friend.
