Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Gregory Anglin, 44, of Midway, Alabama on June 26, 2018 in Panama City, Florida.

Services celebrating his earthly tenure will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from the sanctuary of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Midway, Rev. Samuel Coleman, pastor.

The message of comfort and strength will be delivered by the Rev. Jeffery Fortson, pastor of the New Elam and Mt. Peasant Hill Baptist Churches. Interment will follow in Sandtown Cenetery.

Public visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

Mr. Anglin will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Gregory Anglin, affectionately known as “Nookie”, “Wild Bill”, and “Squirt”, was born on March 16, 1974 in Tuskegee, Alabama to Authur Mae Anglin and the late Clarence Grooms. On June 26, 2018, he was called to his eternal home.

“Nookie” confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama. He was preceded in death by a son, Jaqwon Tyree Anglin; his father, Clarence Grooms; and his grandmothers: Fannie Mae Rodgers and Lucille Cowan.

“Nookie” was a loving, free-spirited and caring person. He loved to see and make everyone happy around him. Gregory was a firm believer in God. He attended Bullock County High School, where he graduated with the class of 1992. He became a member of the Mt. Carmel Masonic Lodge #64 in the early 90’s. He worked for Murphy’s Bridge Inc. for over 15 years..

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife: Tarsha Grimes Anglin; mother: Authur Mae Anglin, (Ernest) mother-in-law: Clara (Lavon) Reid; father-in-law: Timothy (Rosie) Jordan, all of Midway, AL.; his loving children: Nicole Jones, Salena Jones, Christian Harris, Gregory Jones, Tyqueira Grimes, Tyleria Anglin, Tashiyana Anglin, Jamarlyn Jackson, Panama City, FL., Darius Roberson, Troy, AL., and Jakhari Anglin, Bonifay, FL.; sisters: Pamela (Lacey) Anglin and Samarow Bowens; brothers: Clarence McCray, Walchula, FL., Eric Holliday, Tommie Holliday, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Trellis (Ricky) Hooks, Talissa Rodgers, Shawnterra (Jadana) Grimes, and Tyisha Jordan; brothers-in-law: Timothy (Breana) Jordan, Trashad (Ariel) Rodgers, Terrius Rodgers, and Arthur (Erica) Grimes; aunts: Lorraine Wadgett, Eva Lane, Josephine Frank, Annie Cason, Denise Jackson, all of Detroit, MI., and Betty Jean Smith, Walchula, FL.; a special aunt: Alice Tarver; uncles: Leon Miles, Panama City, FL., James, Larry and Bernard Jackson (all preceded him in death); special nieces: Markethia Anglin and ShaNeka Holliday; special cousins: Adrianne Rodgers and Georgia (Tremayne) Bascomb; special friends: Joyce Addison, Ernest Robertson, Willie Mack, Joseph Wynn, Robert Murry, and Tori Vines; and a host of other family and friends.
