Nancy Reynolds

Passed 12/11/2022

Nancy Davenport Reynolds passed away peacefully Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Grady Health Systems in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was born on June 28, 1927, in Greenville, SC to the late Runette Davenport Moore and Elliott Huitt Davenport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W Reynolds, Jr., and her brother Ted Davenport.

Nancy lived in West Point for almost 70 years. She was employed twice during this time, first with West Point Manufacturing Company in Shawmut and later with the Batson-Cook Company in West Point, where she retired in 1982. She was an active participant with her children’s activities and became a second Mom to many even allowing A to invite several WPHS sports heroes to live with the family. She was kind, generous, funny and loyal to her friends, and she loved deeply.

Nancy was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in West Point for over 68 years. During that time, she served on many committees including the Altar Guild, Circle Clubs, Food Ministries and Mag Davis Sunday School Class Treasurer; but her overall favorite was Meals on Wheels, where she continued to deliver meals well into her 80s.

She loved the beach and was the last surviving member of an elite group known as the Ponte Vedra Beach Bums. This group laughed their way through much of the United States and parts of Europe, but their favorite vacation spot was always the Sea Dream in Ponte Vedra, Florida.

She is survived by her son, Bill Reynolds (Evelyn), her daughter, Beth Borski (Phillip), grandsons Billy Reynolds (Renae), Ryan Dodge (Adriana) and granddaughter Courtney Lopez (Alvaro), great-grandchildren Kelsey Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Jameson Dodge and Carter Dodge.

A memorial service will be held for Nancy on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the West Point First United Methodist Church Chapel at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be sent to the West Point First United Methodist Church Food Ministries, 306 East 7th Street, West Point, GA 31833

The Staff of Bluffton Funeral Services is honored to be selected to provide end-of-life services for the Reynolds family.
