On Thursday, December 8,2022 Nathaniel Lindsey, Jr. completed his earthly tenure and entered into eternal glory.
After graduating from Fairmont High School in Griffin, Lindsey was commissioned into the United States Army where he served 30 years.
During his military career, Lindsey also served in Special Forces, Infantry, Airborne, Marksman Unit, and Green Beret.
A loving and devoted family man, Lindsey was united in holy matrimony to Judith M. Lindsey (Judith M. Flint) on August 14,1965.
Lindsey accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in Griffin, Ga. After arriving at Fort Benning, he became a member of the body at Macedonia Baptist Church under the Pastorage of Rev. E.L. Battle. Mr. Nathaniel Lindsey, Jr. served as a deacon, musical director for several choirs and in many other ministries at Macedonia.
On April 29, 2007 Nathaniel Lindsey joined the body of Pinehurst Baptist Church by statement under the pastorage of Dr. Tony R. Dickerson. Lindsey was always glad to be in the House of the Lord hearing the Word of God and singing hymns.
After retiring from the Army with an honorable discharge in 1992 Lindsey gained employment with Columbus Bank and Trust as Military Branch Manager, Fort Benning Ga. Until his retirement from the bank.
Lindsey was also employed with Troy University as Academic advisor and adjunct Professor until his retirement.
Other than his parents, Nathaniel Lindsey, Jr. was preceded in death by his brother, Willie O. Lindsey. Cherishing his memories is a loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Judith M. Lindsey; a beloved daughter, Deborah M. Lindsey; two grandchildren, Akievia E. Lindsey and Brittany J. Baugh, one great grandchild, Moses G. Lindsey; a devoted nephew, Jerel X. L. Lyles, In-laws Delores (Walter) Lotharp; Neville F. Atkins and Priscilla A. Flint.
A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
CSM Nathaniel Lindsey specialized care-giving was professionally governed and administrated via Priscilla A. Flint, Jerel X. L. Lyles, Neville Atkins, Channa McKinney and Tamara Burns.
The Homegoing Celebration for CSM (Ret) Nathaniel Lindsey will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM Graveside at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 15, 2022 beginning at 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Progressive.
