Necola Denise Lane Hemingway

Necola (Cola) Denise Lane Hemingway was born on June 15, 1958 to the late LaRue Lane Jr. and Stella Mae Lane in Brooklyn, NY. She departed this life on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA.

Cola received her education in New York City Public Schools. She was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn. After graduating, she obtained her Associates Degree and began a long career at Saks Fifth Avenue at the Corporate Office. She then met and married Tyler Hemingway. During this union, their children Tylia and Tylil (Justin) were born.

In 2006, she moved to West Point, Georgia. She was employed at Marvin’s Building Materials until she retired. After her retirement, she loved to do DIY projects/crafts, shopping, traveling, going to the movies, reading books and spending time with her fiancé, her children, and loving grandchildren.

Cola will always be remembered for her love of family, friends, her beautiful smile and spirit. She was a kind and gentle person who always took others feelings into consideration and every conversation with her whether it was coworkers, friends or family was memorable and will live on forever. We will never forget her, she was truly a bright light in this world. Besides her parents, Cola was preceded in death by her sisters, Gail Williams and Julia Jackson ,as well as, her mother-in-law, Amy Tisdale.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her daughter Tylia Hemingway of West Point, GA; her son,Tylil Hemingway of Rosedale, NY; her stepson, Tyler Hemingway, Jr. of Albany, NY; her fiancé, Edward James of West Point, GA; her grandchildren, Tramel, Ty-Mir, ZaMora and Tru all of West Point, GA; one brother, Rev. Venson Vaughn of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Debra Lane of Rosedale, NY and Robyne Lane of West Point, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; as well as a host of friends that she built life long bonds with, including her dear friend, Marianna Allen of Lanett, AL and Lavonne Welch of Brooklyn, NY.

Funeral Services for Ms. Hemingway will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. ET in the sanctuary of the New Dimensions Worship Center with Bishop Donald Lancaster, Rev. Calvin Marshall and Rev. Warren Goss, assisting. Interment will follow in the Marseilles Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday December 4, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
