Obituary For Mrs. Jerelene Ramsey

Ms. Jerelene Ramsey, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Thursday, August 11, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (EST) from Rehoboth Baptist Church, Valley, AL with Pastor Karanja Story officiating.

Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (EST) at Davis Memorial Mortuary chapel.

Ms. Jerelene Regina Johnson Ramsey was born October 3, 1943 in Chambers County, Alabama to the late George Hutchinson and Josie Johnson. She departed this life on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at her residence in Lanett, Alabama.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with Rehoboth Baptist Church of Valley, Alabama and remained a faithful member throughout her life. She was a member of the Davidson and Ward Singers of West Point, Georgia and a dedicated member of the Gala for Christ Choir. A gifted vocalist, she was known for her beautiful voice and sang at many events throughout the Greater Valley area.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon James and her sister, Jimmie Sue Brooks.

Ms. Ramsey leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Kenneth Ramsey and Kelby (Eurika) Ramsey both of Lanett, AL; her brother, Frank Johnson, Valley, AL; her sister, Cora Santiago, Lanett, AL; grandchildren, Kentavious Ramsey, Lanett, AL, Kambria McCullough, West Point, GA, Shamiya Todd and Brandon James both of Lanett, AL, Kourtney (Paisley) Ramsey, West Point, GA, and Eric (Breauna) Cooper, Opelika, AL; three great-granddaughters, Shakayla Thomas, Ayanna Roberts, and Peyton James; her family of Louisiana; son-in-law, Rodney James; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
