Mrs. Betty J. Williams Johnson was born in Columbus, Georgia on August 21, 1946 to the late Mattie P. Williams and Curtis C. Harris. She went to her eternal home on Monday morning, July 25, 2022, at her residence in Columbus, Georgia.

Betty was a religious person who committed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Greater St. Mark AME and a graduate of Spencer High School. She was joined together in matrimony to the late Henry “Bud” Johnson and together they raised three children. Mrs. Johnson’s early work history includes working for Tom’s Food for over 20 years before she switched to retail with Bruno’s Beauty and Barber Supply. She enjoyed gospel music, cooking, and her family. Other than her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Bruno Johnson; and her sister, Catherine Hall.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters; Verncile Dutton and Alicia Johnson; grandchildren; Dominique Mikell, Arielle Jack, Gabrielle Mikell, Sedaria Dutton; great-grandchildren; Jaiden Toomer, India Dornes, Vern Major Jr; siblings; Vivian Lockhart (Ernest), Bernice Corprew (Gregory), Sandra Berryman (Rick), Gregory Williams; and a host of in-laws; aunts; uncles; and other family and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Betty Johnson will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 beginning at 11:00AM Graveside at Green Acres Cemetery with Reverend Brian Hart officiating
