Celebrating the life of Mr. Lee Otis Coleman. Jr, Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Coleman, age 47, of Midway, AL.

Mr. Coleman, known and loved by friends as “Pookey”, transitioned into eternity, July 20, 2022, in Colquitt, GA.

The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, July 29, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

The Farewell Celebration will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the parking area of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Midway.

Pastor James N. Robbins, Sr. of the Mt Coney and Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Churches will deliver the eulogy.

Interment will follow all services in the Sandtown Cemetery, Midway, AL.

In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.

Lee Otis Coleman Jr. was born April 1, 1975 and made his transition to eternal life on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Miller Long Term Care facility in Colquitt County, GA.

Lee Otis was born to Lula Mae Barber Coleman and Mr. Lee Otis Coleman Sr. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined New Bethel Baptist Church. Lee Otis earned his high school diploma with the class of ’94 from Bullock County High School in Union Springs, AL. Lee Otis most recently worked for Young’s Plant Farm in Auburn, AL.

Lee Otis was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Mae Barber, father, Mr. Lee Otis Coleman Sr. and his sister in law, Shaquella Shanto Pipkins.

Lee Otis will truly be missed by many and leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Wykeshia Coleman (Midway, AL), a daughter, Latasha Nickens (Midway, AL), sons, Quayshaun and Keyshaun Pierson (Troy Alabama), brothers, Robert (Berlin) Coleman (Atlanta, GA) and Kevin (Tasha) McClinton (Columbus, GA), sisters, Towander (Cornelius) Coleman (Phenix City, AL) and Sara (Leon) Goshea (Kileen, TX), two adopted sisters Cassandra (Thomas) Ivery (Augusta, GA) and Carmelita James (Atlanta, GA), grandchildren, Jayceon and Jaylen Coleman (Midway, AL), special Uncle Richard Parker (Midway, AL), a special Mother-in-Law, Sandra Pipkins (Columbus, GA), Sisters-in-law, Kolandriana and Ortessiana Brown (Atlanta, GA), Brothers-in-Law, Christopher (Dominique) Pipkins (Atlanta, GA) and Brandyn (Brittany) Pipkins (Columbus, GA), special niece, Dessary Coleman and two nephews, Dishawn Coleman and Bernard McCray with whom he shared a special bond and a host of other special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends
