Obituary For Virginia Calhoun Robinson

Carter Funeral Home humbly and honorably announces the peaceful transition of Mrs. Virginia Calhoun Robinson, (100) of Tuskegee, Alabama.

Mrs. Robinson, transitioned into eternity on the evening of June 15, 2022, at her residence, while under the watchful care of her loving family.

The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, June 24, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

The Farewell Celebration will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 2:00 pm from the sanctuary of the Solomon Chapel AME Zion Church in Tuskegee, AL: Rev E.O. Major, pastor. Pastor Annie R. Cannon of the County Line AME Zion Church will deliver the message of triumph.

Interment will follow all services in the County Line AME Zion Cemetery, Union Springs, AL.

In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.

Virginia Robinson was born on May 10,1922 in Bullock County, AL to the late Charlie Calhoun Sr. and the late Estella Calhoun.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined County Line AME Zion Church. As a member of the church, Virginia served as the stewardess to the pastor.

Virginia was married to the late Willie Robinson Sr. She was the mother of 10 children. Virginia was a homemaker and raised her children with love and affection. During her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She loved flowers and always planted a flowerbed and a vegetable garden. She was a great cook. And most of all, she loved to go fishing.

Virginia was preceded in death by her two children Henry Lee Robinson and Margaret Robinson. Her three sister Ada Bell Baker Johnson, Jannie Mae Tatum, and Beatrice Harrison. Her three brother George Calhoun, Charlie Calhoun Jr., and Willie Calhoun.

Virginia peacefully passed away on June 15, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children Luke Robinson , Hermitage, TN (Queen), Charlie Lee Robinson, , Rochester, NY (Elaine-deceased), Willie Mae Sullins , Tuskegee, AL (Thomas), Rosie Mae Anderson, Somerset, NJ (Arthur -deceased), Willie Robinson Jr., Conyers, GA, Mary Dukes, Safety Harbor, FL (Jerry-deceased), Evern Whitlow, Tuskegee, AL, Brenda Austin, Tuskegee, AL (Melvin), her sister Mattie Calhoun, Tuskegee, AL, her brother Albert Calhoun, Rochester, NY, stepdaughter Rosie Lee Robinson, Union Springs, AL, daughter in-law Patricia Robinson, Cape Coral, FL and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved relatives.
