The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, February 25, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home. Loved ones will assemble at Graveside to celebrate the new life of Mr. Tinsley D. Major on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Cemetery, Aberfoil Community, Union Springs, AL. Service will be live-streamed (see clickable link below)
Mr. Major was an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Navy and will be afforded the privilege of Military Burial Honors. Pastor Hawthorn Reed will deliver the eulogy.
Tinsley Doylve' Major was the only son born to Henry Mack Major and Florieda Anderson Major on June 10, 1968.
Tinsley graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in Rochester, New York and after graduation he attended Morehouse College. Tinsley was employed for over a decade by the Rochester Police Department as a School Crossing Guard.
Left to mourn his passing are one son, Tyler Masseta and one daughter, Tiana Masseta; two sisters, Lakeya "Traci" (William) Major-Daymon and Sauntevia "Tevie" Major; eight aunts, Anne (Melvin) Gregory, Bonnie Newby, Flint, Michigan, Billie Hazzard, Union Springs, Alabama, Annie (Frank) Lee, Detroit, Michigan, Marilyn (George) King, Akron, Ohio; Mary Alice (John) Cargill, Troy, Alabama, Catherine (Willie) Callahan, South Carolina and Godmother Ida (Ben) Hood, Rochester, New York; two uncles, Wilbert Major, Rochester, New York, William Anderson, Jr., Union Springs, Alabama, a hosted of cousins family and friends.
In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.
