Mrs. Verna Fleming Epps King passed away Sunday at her home at the age of 89.

A native of Midland, GA. and the daughter of the late Harry and Emma Mahone Fleming, she attended Radcliff High School. She retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills after over 24 years of service. A very devout member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, she was a member of the Ushers Ministry, Willing Workers, Choir and Deacons Wives Ministry.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Deacon Willie Epps, Jr. and Deacon Robert King; two children, Arthur and Felicia Epps; and her eight siblings. Surviving are her loving children, LeRoy Epps, Levern Spicer and Vicki Epps-Taylor; a step-daughter, Gloria Cousins(Harry); thirteen grandchildren: fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. King will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery on Saturday, February 19, 2022 following at Eleven O’clock AM Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Pastor James G. Davis will officiate. Service will be live-streamed (see clickable link below)

Visitation is 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
