Obituary For Hattie Elaine Reeves Cousins

We respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Hattie Elaine Reeves Cousins, age 53, of 1817 Ellis Rd. in Meriwether County (St. Mark's Community) on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Hattie Elaine (Reeves) Cousins is at Springfield Baptist Church 304 Carter St. Greenville, Ga 30222 Saturday, June 9, 2018 1:00 pm. Pastor Duane Jackson officiating.

Mrs. Hattie Elaine (Reeves) Cousins was born on April 16, 1965 in Meriwether County to the late Isaiah and Mary Lee Reeves. Hattie was the first born of eleven children. On June 3, 2018 God sent down one of his angels to welcome her to her eternal home. She was preceded in her death by her sister Beverly D. Reeves and two brothers: Mr. Raymon D. Reeves and Mr. Isaiah Reeves Jr.

Hattie affectionately known as Laine, attended school in Meriwether County. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Fellowship Baptist Church where she remained faithful until her health began to fail. She worked for many years in hospitality but was known for her great cooking and her infectious smile. Hattie Loved her family and showed it with her stern teaching of life lessons.

To know Hattie was to love her. She leaves behind a wonderful loving and devoted husband Darian Cousins and six devoted children: Mr. Derek Reeves, Mrs. Demetric (Termaine) Stroman all of Greenville, Ga, Mr. & Mrs. Alfonso (Quijuna) Reeves, Mr. and Mrs. Rodriqus (Shavonne) Reeves all of Grantville, Ga, Mr. and Mrs. Stan (Ofvenesia) Reeves of LaGrange, Ga, and Ms. Brittney (Michael) Colton of Greenville, Ga. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; Jaquerrious, Touche, India, Derekah, Ty’Keriah, Kenyata, Amaree, Adrianna, Rhinna, ZyKerius, Zaiden, Tydrekus, Travon, Rodriqus, Skylar, Sevhn, BreShun, Precious, Mikiyah and one great-grandchild; Ja’khayree.

Hattie also leaves six sisters and brothers to cherish her memories: Barbara Daniels, Cynthia Lawson, Tineshia (Chasity) Reese, Ramona Reeves, Patrick (Lokeisha) Reeves, Bobby (Tonya) Reeves, Gerald Reeves and one special sister LaWanda Strozier. Along with her mother in law Dorothy Cousins, brother in laws Larry (Jennifer) Mitchell, Robert (Rodasia) Cousins, Leroy Moses, and sister in laws Tracey Cousins, and Melissa (Jeffery) Strong, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Hattie had four special friends that she cherished and loved; Latarsha Hopson, Staphane Jackson, Ola Terry, and Raymond Daniel.

Hattie touched so many people's lives. She was a friend indeed to everyone she met. She lived, taught, loved and comforted everyone she encountered. She truly had a heart of GOLD!
