Obituary For Willie Major Clemons

We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. Willie Major Clemons, age 83, and a long time resident of Meriwether County Georgia, on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church located at 49 Todd Road in Greenville, Georgia. Pastor DeMond Johnson will officiate.

Public viewing will be Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Interment will be at Olive Branch #2 Hwy 100 in Hogansville.

Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the viewing and the Church Service must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.

Willie Major Clemons known as Billy and StillBill was born on November 25, 1937 in the Meriwether County, Georgia to the late Bobby T. Sr. and Jessie Mae Clemons. On November 1, 2021 he departed from this life for his eternal home.

He accepted Christ at an early age where he served faithfully as an usher at the Fellowship Baptist Church until his health began to fail.

He was a man of many Trades, he worked at Woodkraft (Mead) Corporation for 30 years where he retired at the closing of the company. He is preceded in death by his three children; Willie Major Jr., Jacaueline and Kelvin. Grandson Travis Hardway , parents, two brothers; Bobby T. Jr. and O.T.; and four sisters, GussieBell, Mattie, Sally and Juanita.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his devoted wife Mattie Ruth, two daughters; Doris Locke and Pamela (Richard)Walker awesome caregiver; three sons, Ray (Annette), Orlanda (Priscilla), Winston (Benita); eleven grandchildren, Maurice, DeMarcus, Receo, Chikietha, Nekeia (Steven) Hardy, Quanessa, Orlona (Jeremy) Hill, SamTravious, Mortez, Kayla and Mardarius; fifteen great grandchildren, Destinee, Jaelyn, Travis Jr, Zyah, Aiden, Desirae, Key’asia, Jasmine, Aniya, CarrieAnn, Jasmine, Malachi, Skyler, Empryss, and Emoria; seven sisters, Betty, Florence, Ruby, Gerilene, Elizebeth, Gloria and Patricia. A host Brothers and Sisters-In-Laws, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Thrash and Sons Funeral Home.
