Arlington, TX- Ms. Sherry D. Ancrum formerly of Columbus, passed away Thursday at her home in Arlington, Texas at the age of 64. A daughter of Dr. Rose Wright Willis of Columbus and the late Alphonso Wilkerson, Sherry was born at Ft. Benning, GA. She was a 1971 graduate of William H. Spencer High School and was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church. After over 25 years of services, she retired from the Department of Defense(Army Air Force Exchanges Services) in Arlington, TX. Other than her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Hunt.

Surviving other than her devoted mother are three loving children, Alphonso Ancrum, Chaleta and Lolita Ancrum; a grandchild, Marshawn Johnson; two nieces, Cheryl Hunt-Sweat and Lorrell Wilkerson; two uncles, John D. Wright and Charles Wright(Louise); her best friend, Dorothy Shields; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sherry will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery on Friday, May 18, 2018 following a Eleven O'clock A.M. Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of Nazareth Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Brandon Isome. Visitation is 2:00 til 7:00 P.M. today at the funeral home.
