Born in Hurtsboro, AL, she was the daughter of the late George and Nancy Cobb-Fears. Residing in Columbus since 1973, she retired from Kirvens Department Store after many years of employment. A devout member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, she had been active with PICCM, Golden Agers Ministry, Deep Sea Fishing Bible Study and the Missionary Ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Spencer and a daughter, Kerriedia Spencer.
Surviving are two children, Caliestro Spencer(Rita) and Willa Spencer-Cooper; three grandchildren, Toleaseia Adams, Elizabeth "Libby" Cooper and Spencer "Drew" Marshall; two great grandchildren, Courtney Williams-Diggins(Romahn) and Javier Adams; a great great grandson, Romell Diggins; two brothers, Clarence Fears and Joe Fears; a sister, Lottie Banks; a devoted niece, Doris Fears; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Spencer will be laid to rest with her husband on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Twelve O'clock Noon during a Homegoing Celebration at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, Georgia. Pastor J.H. Flakes III will officiate.
Visitation is 3 - 5 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
